They are a work in progress, fun and frustrating at the same time... and I have been experimented with having meta tag descriptions or having the title in the url as well...It looks like if you have a meta tag description google only reads that rather than getting info from the page that you wrote? Can you just have a keyword metatag without a description metagtag?

I think I lost rank on Craigs Prints since I added the meta tag description...

I can't help but point out that some of the more "serious" sites one here i.e. business or professional sites would look a lot better with a favicon on them. A favicon is that little image or logo that appears in the address bar beside your url and also in the bookmarks and book marks bar. If you don't have one it just appears as a plank page which looks, in my opinion kinda amateur.

Here is a great tutorial by iJason on how to make and add a favicon to your site http://iwebunlimited.com/2008/iweb-tips/iweb-tip-10-favicons-with-iweb/

Here are a couple of more "serious" sites I have built - note the lovely favicons!!! 😉

Download a copy of iWebSEO - this will insert the tags and Google analytics automatically for you. You will have to publish your site to your desktop first to be able to open it with iWebSEO.

Just wondering why when you have a domain name, you have used unmasked web forwarding so that you MobilMe url shows up in the address bar rather than using CNAME forwarding where if you did this your url would be http://www.denisbarnes.com/site name/page name?

Todd,

There is a wealth of interest in sites created using iWeb and some superb examples of both sites created using iWeb and tutorials that can further enhance these sites.

I have two that have been considerably revised after taking note of all the help available:

and

I guess that the next step will be to steer away from Flash powered sites towards HTML5, but there seems to be a distinct lack of HTML info regarding the production of slideshows etc. Has anyone got any suggestions?

Dennis,

I echo the recommendation for iweb seo from rage... also Roddy has an e-book that you can buy at his site which I would recommend you get - $10 maybe? It will help in many area's. http://iwebformusicians.com/iWebMusicWebsite/MusicWebsiteBuilding.html

Also see my post above about favicons because, IMO, having the apple logo at the top of your page makes it look homemade.
