Can I have hold music?

I agree with you. The music phone service provider use is never the best! Like you, when I switch to my calendar on iPhone and ask my caller to wait while I do that, it would be great to have one of my iPod tracks play to him until I pressed the green bar again to return to the call. Surely one could set that up independently of the phone service provider: just a matter of substituting my music choice for my voice until I clicked back off hold??

I hope it never happens. I prefer silence while on hold since I may be listening to music on my end or talking to someone in the room or I may just not like your taste in hold music.

Call hold/call wait is a network feature (while it is activated by the handset) as such any music would be supplied by your carrier, there should be some there but chances are it's some wonderfull elevator style stuff (I'm partial to Brahms myself 😉 ).

AT&T has offered music while the phone is ringing to the calling party (music plays instead of ring...ring..ring), but they charge what seems to be a lot for the service and it only lasts for a year, as I recall. Lots of choices of music, though. No idea about call holding, try calling AT&T.

AT&T used to have this service. My mother-in-law would always have holiday music and I know she's AT&T... positive of this fact! 🙂 (holiday music & AT&T)

Call their customer support but I'm sure that is a charge.

I see no mention of on hold music on AT&T's website.

If it is available it would be an additional service and you would have to contact AT&T about this.

Some providers have it some don't. You would have to contact AT&T to see if they support it.
