iTunes Store Error -42401

iTunes Store Error -42401

Recently did an archive and install of the operating system, and re-updated everything. Am back to running 10.4.11, and iTunes 8.1.1. Went to reauthorize my songs....and couldn't got back the error code -42401. I can access my account and the iTunes store, jsut can't authorize the computer. Which was previously authorized before the archive and install.

Mac Mini, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

I got this error too, after updating to 8.1.1. I also upgraded quicktime to 7.6 and installed the new security update.
How can I fix this problem with itunes?

I just did the same thing and am having the same problem. My older purchases come up with the -42401 Error, but they show up in my "purchased" column in iTunes

I was able to resolve the 42401 error by removing iTunes and reinstalling it. Before removing itunes (which I did with CleanApp). I first backed-up my iTunes folder under 'music'. I now all works very well again.
