Time Capsule flashing Orange

Hello,

I've tried fixing this issue reading other posts but couldn't figure it out... maybe someone can help??

I have Time Capsule and use it to back up my files as well as my network router. It is connected wirelessly to my iMac as well as with my Macbook. For whatever reason, every now and then it starts to flash orange instead of the usual green light. The internet connection still works fine and the backing up works fine, it's just flashing orange. I've read that this is the TC telling me something isn't quite right but I can't figure it out... Does anyone know how to fix this? If I unplug the TC for a minute then reconnect, it goes back to green only to start flashing orange a few days/hours later....

Thank you in advance!

Hello Blanch212. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!

A persistent, flashing amber light indicates that any of the several potential conditions may require your attention:

o The base station has not yet been configured because it is new, or the reset switch has been set.
o You have selected a security configuration that is not recommended.
o One of several other conditions, such as a disconnected Ethernet cable or invalid IP address has been detected.

If you run the AirPort Utility, it will show an amber circle on the summary page next to the area(s) causing the problem. Click on this amber circle and it should provide an explanation. Then please post back with your findings.
