iTunes authorization problems won't let me sync apps
The last few times I've tried to sync my iPod all apps are removed and will not be synced to the iPod because I am "not authorized to play them on this computer." I do, though, have my iMac authorized with both of my iTunes Store accounts. Reauthorizing them does not work, nor does restoring the iPod. What am I supposed to do to get my apps to sync?
24" iMac 2.4GHz, 1GB RAM, 320GB HDD,
Mac OS X (10.5.6)
I'm not sure having two accounts is such a good idea. Any purchase that you have made will be flagged to one account or the other. Depending on which account is active at the time you attempt to play (or use) the file will result in failure or success. I dug this article out and I suggest you follow the troubleshooting steps to see if this clears things up. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389
what exactly is the purpose of your two accounts, and can you delete on. to authorize certain songs, you have to either log into the corresponding apple ids. or you could upgrade to itunes plus.
Maybe we are over thinking this one. What have you set your iTunes application syncing parameters to? If you selected all, then they should be there. If you selected "Sync Selected applications", make sure the ones you want have a check mark.
If you purchased (yes, even free apps are "purchased") the apps via your touch, they should have been transferred to iTunes when you synced. However, try (in iTunes) File > Transfer Purchases from...
And here is the weirdest fix of all - download and sync another app. Believe it or not, this has cleared up this problem for other people.
I think you may have stumped us. Last thought on this one, try to create a third account on iTunes and see if you can sync with that one. If you don't want to do that, contact your local Apple store and make an appointment to see a Genius. Take your touch and your iMac in and let them figure it out.
Hi I have exactly the same problem as dotBran & mstteter, all i can say is that up until 2 days ago everything worked fine with both my old apple itunes account & the new one, also with my Iphone. Now I keep getting the authorization login request even after I have previously logged in! On both accounts.
Problem solved. Yesterday i hat a chat with an Applesupporter. After reset of my authorization account in itunes and deleting a SC file the problem was solved!
I am having the same problem popping up with "apps": Only mine is from an old account I had 3 years that hasn't been used for 4 years. It prompts me to authorize my computer to this old account which doesn't even exist... the message reads:
"This computer is no longer authorized for apps that are installed the iPhone "my iphone". Would you like to authorize this computer?"
When I enter current account info it tells me that this computer is already authorized and when I try to sync again it immediately pops up the same message above.
This only started happening after downloading and installing iTunes 8.1.1
