purchasing from non-local iTunes Store

I live in Japan and use my credit card to purchase songs etc. from the Japan iTunes store.
If I get someone in the UK to purchase an iTunes gift card for me, can I use that card to purchase songs etc. from the UK iTunes store, without having to register a UK credit card/address?
