If the only place an app resides is where you see it, then dragging it to the trash removes it.
The only exception is for apps that require a password to install. The are NOT to be dragged into the trash. If they are properly written they will always include a removal/uninstall script or app.
I have never used nor needed anything like app remover. I actually like the way I can simply trash most apps to remove them.
The rest of you post has nothing to do with Leopard and should be directed elsewhere, such as the company that makes the program.
