Change Close Lid Action

I've looked around but can't find an answer: is it possible to stop a MacBook white (latest model) from going to sleep when the lid is closed? Most of the time, that's nice. But when I'm using an external monitor and keyboard, it would be nice to temporarily stop that from happening.

If you have an external keyboard and mouse connected then the computer does not go to sleep when the lid is closed. You can also use third-party software, InsomniaX, to prevent sleep with the lid closed - VersionTracker or MacUpdate.

Thanks! I've never tried closing the lid with both attached so I didn't see that it stayed on! I sometimes wish that the Mac documentation was better.
