iPhone Rings When Hooked Up to iHome Speakers

Hi!!!

I have the iHome speakers for my iPhone and I use them at work. I keep my iPhone on vibrate. When someone calls me, you can hear the phone ring through the iHome speakers and it gets pretty loud (I have the "alarm" for my ringtone). Does anyone know how to stop this from happening?

Thanks,
Dan

I'm not 100% sure but i think if you go into settings>sounds and move the volume slider all the way down it will stop this unfortunately it would mean that you have to slide it back up again after you have un-docked it and want to hear a ringtone.

It also would means that any sounds, including music, won't be heard. I presume the OP is using the iHome to listen to music or other audio. He could set the iPhone silent switch, but won't be able to hear the phone ring at all.

Currently, the only way to satisfactorily solve this issue is to place the iPhone in Airplane mode. No calls will come through then. I know exactly what you're saying because I frequently hook my iPhone up to my car stereo and when calls come through, I can hear the ring on the speaker and subsequently the caller as well. To keep my peace of mind when I don't want to be bothered with anyone and be left alone with my music, I occasionally place the iPhone in Airplane mode and enjoy my tunes!

If you're looking for a way that will mute the calls and send them to voicemail while playing music, there is no other way to accomplish this end other than the method I've suggested above.
