I bought Synch ProX a couple of years ago and used it to make bootable backups. Now the license is expired and I am again looking for an easy solution to keep my MacBook Pro and my home iMac totally in synch. Any thoughts on which package is better for this. Chronos is $40 and renewing my Synch Pro X license is $49...
MacBook Pro 17" Intel 2.33 2GB RAM,
Mac OS X (10.5.6)
I've never run Synch Pro X, but have been running ChronoSync for about a year now. Perusing the Qdea site, I don't see any features listed that CS doesn't have.
One other point, in the time I've had CS, I've upgraded from v3.x to v4.0 for free. That may be the only difference I see -- the SPX license is much more restrictive wrt upgrades. For the initial price of SPX plus one 2 year upgrade plus $10, you could have bought CS licenses for 5 machines that won't expire.

Can i use Chronos to keep my user folder (including mail and not just mail setting but actual messages) and apps synched across two machines? If that is the case i will buy it today.
i've also been using chronosync for a couple of years now — it's fantastic. yes you can create a backup of any folder you like... i use chonosync to make automatic backups onto my usb drive, my firewire drives, and to other drives over my home network. it also maked a bootable backup.
