Only you can be the judge of that. How much space do your picture and music files take up on your current computer?

To save on space, you could invest in an external hard drive to store files that you do not use often.

For any hard drive, it is best to keep at least 10% to 20% of the total space free.

If you have 100 GB of files, then the 128 GB SSD is not for you.

Having 10,000 pictures does not say much, as we do not know the total amount of space that those pictures use.

Your pictures and music should be stored on at least two external hard disks and possibly burned to DVDs. It is pointless to run up the cost of a laptop to keep everything instantly available. There aren't enough hours in the day to look at 10,000 pictures.

That is approximately 60 GB of files, so your 128 GB solid-state drive is more than enough.

However, I strongly agree with Retired Engineer's advice.
