Are Macbook CD Writers CDG compatible?

I can't find out anywhere if my Macbook will burn CDG format. It's for karaoke machines, it is audio as well as visual. I read up and someone said most modern CD writers will be compatible but i just want to be sure. So will my macbook burn in CDG format? Also, does anyone know what application i can get to do so?

White Macbook, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Unfortunately, the Matshita drives used in most MacBooks/MacBookPros do not support the CD+G format. If you do have drive that doesn't support CD+G, you can always replace the built-in drive (hard) or buy an external drive that supports the format (easy).

There's a shareware application called kJams ( http://karaoke.kjams.com/) that should meet your needs to play and create CD+G format discs. They also have a wiki that should provide more details -- here's their page on compatible drives: http://karaoke.kjams.com/wiki/Compatible_Drives
