Safari - Problem w/Apple Website

Is anyone else having this problem with the Apple website when using Safari? I can't seem to make any "selections" on the website. I tap to select on my trackpad on my iBook or hit the select bar with my thumb and nothing happens - this is with almost every link on the Apple website. Other websites work fine. Just to see if it was Safari related problem, I opened the Apple site in IE, and all the links worked. Anyone have a similar problem or an idea what's going on?
Thanks,
Sue

Just adding myself to the list in case that makes others happy that they are not the only ones. I have stopped using safari after it could not display many of the images in different sites. I get the "?" mark icon with the blue box. Could not fix it.
Downloaded IE and Firefox. IE seems the most consistent and stable.
Also I did not find anywhere in apple site where safari v2 could be downloaded.
I am not sure if Safari could be installed independently of the OS X ( with the Software install disk ). Has anyone tried it?
Don't want to install OSX again.

I am having same issue with connecting to .Mac

I posted the following a little while ago:

Any solutions here.
I get message:
Safari can’t open the page “ http://www.mac.com/WebObjects/Welcome.woa/wa/login?ri…d=D6vttdCK3U7hyEj nohUFx0&aff=consumer&cty=US&lang=en” because it could not connect to the server “www.mac.com”...

Until I see a good answer from Apple or have another issue, I am just going to use IE due to time constraints. Once I got this message, I could not connect to any web sites with any browser, but I could use the network tools to ping some websites (but not mac.com)

I had some success cleaning out the libraries ->cache folder then shutting down.

Also, I noticed that in Activity Monintor, the kernel_task was using up most of my system resources.

I hope some of these hints help someone come up with a solution.

I, too, have been having nightmares with Safari andÑironies of ironiesÑthe Apple Web site. For weeks now, when Safari tries to open apple.com (which had been my homepage), it loads half the page and then stops, spinning the beach ball cursor. It not only freezes Safari but shuts down all my Internet connections. I spent hours on the phone with my ISP (Verizon) who patiently talked me through numerous checks of my settings, resetting my DSL modem and router, and finally generously upgraded my modem and router to a newer unit. All to no avail. I reset Safari, threw out the preferences, and still got the problem. If I restart and use any other browser, everything works fine, even the Apple.com site.
I've been a Mac user since the first Mac and never encountered a bug like this in Apple software. Does anyone know why this is happening, and how to fix it?
Thanks,
Marshall

I can't handle anymore blue question mark boxes!!!!!
After upgrading to Tiger webpage content has been completely screwy. Not only do I get failed images at apple.com but also at multiple unrelated websites. Blue question mark boxes replaces things that I need to click like "okay/agree" versus "cancel". These are important things for one to see the difference between the images. Will someone with apple genius come to our rescue, clearly a lot of us are having this problem and we would like to use Safari over IE, so please help us go back to normal!
thanks

Hi Susan, All - (btw there's another thread about this I've also posted to called "Missing content - repeated reloads necessary"). My new ibook and AEBS (bought a couple of months ago) all worked out of the box (the AEBS is ethernet-connected to my ADSL router) except if I try e.g. www.apple.com. This takes forever & ends up with loads of blue question mark boxes. Other sites of apparently similar (or greater) complexity are ok. afaik this is just on wifi , I have almost never connected my iBook by wire but istr it's ok if I do that. IE seems same. Firefox doesn't work at all wifi but I think does by wire. Other sites eventually complete loading but take forever, e.g. slashdot. UK newspaper sites differ e.g. www.guardian.co.uk is quick, www.independent.co.uk slow. Any ideas? TIA if so. I'll try (tomorrow) to run some tests and tabulate wired vs wifi, browsers and my iBook vs dare I say it the Dell my employer makes me use for work - I've a horrible feeling the latter was ok - but if so it sort of rules out the signal strength? Weird.
