isync

I wonder if anyone could help me please? My isync - which was working perfectly is telling me that it is disabled and that I need to re-enable it in isync preferences. When I try to do this under the isync menu the computer won't allow me to drop down the menu either in isync or help in the upper toolbar. Does anyone have any advice? Many thanks, Sam Pritchard

Are you actually using iSync to sync a non-Apple mobile phone, or are you using *MobileMe Sync* to sync between Macs & PCs, iPhone / iPod touch and the MobileMe cloud?

When I try to do this under the isync menu the computer won't allow me to drop down the menu either in isync or help in the upper toolbar.

I'm not sure what you are referring to here, as the Sync menu (top-right of menu bar) doesn't have an option to load iSync's preferences.

Have you tried loading the iSync application by double-clicking its icon in the Applications folder?

You can then choose Preferences... from the iSync menu with the application open.

If you are unable to open iSync or its preferences, follow the Terminal command instructions in the Support document below to reset SyncServices:

hi, I have seen in the support forums that you are very experienced with sync problems between Ical and Mobile me. I have been using mobile me since about three months and everything has been working fine. Since about beginning of April I cannot sync ical to mobile me. The sync-icon in the taskbar does not work. I triet everything which you described in http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=8117517 but it would not help. What's suddenly wrong?
thanks, peter

Thank you for your help Julian. I am trying to sync a machine using 'Tiger' which I use at work and my own machine using 'Leopard.' The 'tiger' machine says that syncing is disabled. I had already tried opening the isync application but the menu won't drop down to allow me to choose Preferences. I have now tried going into Terminal and typing in the command given in the Apple Support menu but to no avail - the machine is resolute that isync is disabled. Is there any other advice you can give me please?
