I set up mail on my iMac, so that it automatically retrieves emails from my aol mail account. Now, I realize that anybody else in my family using the computer will have access to my email.

How do I undo or delete this? I no longer want my iMac to automatically download my AOL emails for everyone to read.

Please help, as my privacy is at risk!

Thanks.

iMac 20 inch, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

You could disable automatic email retrieval in your mail preferences, but don't think that would accomplish your goal of protecting your privacy. Rather, why not create new accounts for each user on the Mac, enable fast-user-switching, and require passwords to enter another user's account. Go to system preferences > accounts > '+' to create a new user account.

marcvil, Welcome to the discussion area!

As Larry said you need to create different OS X user accounts. It is easy to do and easy for everyone to switch to their own account. Another advantage is that everyone can customize their account to their liking.
