Does iPod Touch block Explicit music?

I can't seem to download "Explicit"-labeled songs to my iPod Touch even though they are in my iTunes library. I've tried numerous times to sync my iPod Touch with the song in question checked off, and it will not go to my iPod Touch. Is there some kind of setting on the iPod Touch that does not allow Explicit music on the iPod Touch?

yes there is, go to settings, general, restrictions, and turn restrictions off. hope you remember the pass code.
