Radio Margaritaville

None of my iTunes installations (3 Mac 10.4 and 1 Windows XP) v8.1.1 will play Radio Maragaritaville in iTunes Radio. None of the other stations I have tried seem to be affected. I have talked to the staff at the station and they haven't a clue. The computers are connecting to the internet by router, wired and wireless to cable modem. Highlight the station, click the play button and it says connecting but never plays. They don't use playlists.
Is there a cache I can delete?
Is it possible that Radio Margaritaville has my IP blacklisted?

iTunes 8.1.1, Mac OS X (10.4.11), and Windows XP sp3

Other people having trouble...is your IP address in the 24.140.0.0 range?

My ISP tried to listen to the stream and couldn't from their office. I think someone is blocking a range of addresses.

Ours is 173.70........ I was wondering if it might have something to do with itunes 8. If memory serves it was right about then that we lost it. I updated all of our Macs the same day. I also sent an email to RM but never received a response. Hopefully we'll figure something out soon, I miss my Buffett.

I'm listening right now with Quicktime/Flip for Mac to the the windows media stream (shudder). It stutters when ever I hammer my internet connection but at least I can mute it quickly when I get a phone call, Here's the url:

I got bored today and started clicking through the station listings. There are MANY MANY stations that exhibit the same behavior. I'd guess about 5-10% of the stations do this. I'd guess that they too are actually on the air.

Those don't work for me either. Not sure what's going on here. Could it be ISP related? We have Fios, although it was working before, been a couple of months now. I can listen on RealPlayer but it buffers quite a bit. Hopefully someone will come up with an answer.

My ISP say it is nothing they did. They even provided me a list of blocked ports. It sure didn't look to me like they were doing anything wrong.

Had this problem for about a month BOTH at home and at work, so it's not an ISP thing. Still doesn't work.

I am still unable to listen to Radio Margaritaville through itunes. I miss it and would love to get it back.

In case someone at Apple is reading this thread, my particulars are below…

My ISP is Verizon Fios. My IP address is in the 173.77.xxx.xx range. I have two Macs, neither one gets RM, however both used to. One computer is on OS 10.4 (ethernet connection to Apple Time Capsule), the other is on OS 10.5 (wireless to Time Capsule). Both computers have the latest itunes software version installed. I also did a cursory check of other itunes radio channels, and a couple of them also did not stream like RM. Other than this weird annoyance, both computers are working perfectly.

How in the heck do we get Apple's attention on this issue? Al I have gotten from the people I have contacted so far is "It's not my fault". The least Apple could do is add their "It's not our fault" to the roster.

I figure given the number of folks who say this is a problem on this thread there has to be hundreds of other people with the same problem.

I just installed "Little Snitch" on my Mac and it said that it was trying to connect to port 12105. Radio Margaritaville said that the Hi stream was on port 32105. That would explain what was happening but not how to fix it.

I finally called Apple tech support and got a really nice tech who said after reviewing the issue and trying it himself (couldn't connect either) said he thought that it was a problem with the Radio Margaritaville server.

This has gone on long enough. I spoke with the folks at Radio Margaritaville at length about this problem. Someone at Apple needs to get on the stick and fix the problem. I have updated several times, I have done everything I know to do (as have other folks), even spoke with the "geniuses" (they googled the problem). The problem lies at Apple. RM does not have the capability to "blacklist" addresses. I could understand if it was only one station (or two) but as someone below noted 5-10% of the stations inaccessible is ridiculous.
IS ANYONE OUT THERE?

This should be embarrassing to you!! You've got all those stations out there that don't work for many of us.

Get with anyone necessary and work the problem out.

Someone needs to be responsible for this and since it is your face we are looking into, it needs to be you!!

I'm at my son's house. He's on comcast and I'm getting RM just fine. Looks like ALL the non working stations work here. This has to be an Apple problem.
