Moving Music from my iPod to iTunes

I need help desperately. I do not know what happened, but I just recently noticed that I am missing a lot of music from my iTunes library. I still have it all on my iPod, but not in iTunes. Is there a way to move music from my iPod back to my iTunes?

iTunes will only let you copy your purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer

For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads and including iTunes purchases) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here (you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well):

There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide

I have a similar question. I've been trying to do a lot of research on the whole transferring music from an Ipod back to ITunes, and I can't seem to get a definitive answer on what would work best for my situation. I have a PC that crashed, the 60 gig IPod with all my music on it, and a brand new Macbook that I bought about a month ago. I know some of the third party apps only work for Windows, others only for Macs, so what is best if I am going from a PC to a Mac? And will these apps transfer my music to my actual ITunes, or will they create a whole other ITunes like program? I would just like all of my music in one place, and I can't seem to figure out if that's possible with these third party apps. Help! Thank you...

Hey, I kinda have the same problem but I can't buy anything online. I have recently lost my computer that I synced my iPod Touch with. I was trying to fix it and somehow some of my recent purchases have been taken off my iTouch and onto iTunes on my computer. My iTunes library is empty except for the purchases that were transfered. I have Vista and I am kinda new to it. Is there a third-party program that is compatible with Vista and my iTouch that I can get a RadioShack, Walmart, etc., that can move my song from my itouch to my computer? And have it work with my "non-purchases?" I went to BestBuy and bought a program that was supposed to do this but the woman lied to me and said that I could do it but it was not compatible with my touch.

Then after I do that I can sync my touch so everything is back to the way it was, right?
