Can not find file

I'am new at FCS ,I've imported from P2 card clips edited send to comp. made DVD with varying succ.
nnow I want reopen file in FC it say's file is open but nothing show's in viewer in browser is just a seq.
but nothing else, what do I need to do to get movie file back to reedit.
