May 1, 2009 11:49 AM in response to k_loss14by PT,First thing to check is look into the dock connector for debris or bend pins. A magnifying glass helps with this.
Second thing is if you use your iPod a lot when doing exercise and other activity where it might be exposed to sweat, you may have dried sweat (i.e. salt) on the pins of the dock connector which can cause small shorts between pins. Cleaning the dock connector with a little alcohol or even DI water (just a tiny bit on a brush or Q-tip) may fix it up for you.
