MacBook Pro Speaker/Subwoofer

So I heard that the MacBook Pro has 4 speakers and a subwoofer. Does anyone know what the wattage of the subwoofer is? I have the new 15in MacBook Pro Aluminum.

Hi nikulr,

The MacBook Pro has 2 speakers (L/R) and a subwoofer. The "subwoofer" (if you can actually call it that) is located near the arrow keys on the keyboard. Since the wattage of the speakers is not listed anywhere in Apple's documentation, I doubt anyone knows what that value is. My presumption is that it is not high. Probably 10 watts, maximum.

To say the MBP has a "subwoofer" is to laugh. No sound comes from an MBP that anyone who has heard a subwoofer would ever associate with one. The speaker system is OK for listening to Skype phone calls or audiobooks, but there is no bass response worth mentioning. To expect any from a machine like the MBP (or any notebook, for that matter) is just unreasonable.
