anything comparable to ReadyBoost on the Mac OS side?

Is there anything comparable to ReadyBoost ( http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/features/readyboost.aspx) within the latest editions of the MacOS?

Incidentally, I use windows most of the time (I have no choice at my workplace), but I'm getting started with a fairly new iMac at home.

Thanks in advance!

iMac, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

I would think that this capability is both a hardware function and an OS function. This question has been asked before and the answer is no.

How much RAM do you have in your iMac? If you have a limited amount, the OS uses hard drive space as Virtual Memory. On my G4, when I upgraded the RAM to 1GB, VM is no longer being used. I would guess that most Macs with 1GB or more RAM do not normally use VM. The Mac OS is not as RAM intensive as Windows OS.

I'm planning on using this iMac with Vmware Fusion; my bottom line is to be able to use NaturallySpeaking on the iMac. I rely upon NaturallySpeaking very heavily on a day-to-day basis (as a result of carpal tunnel syndrome).

This particular iMac currently has 4 GB of RAM (it's maximum). I want to be able to run Windows Vista Home Premium64-bit within Fusion. The particular version of NaturallySpeaking that I'm presently utilizing at work (on a PC) operates much, much better within the 64-bit OS than the 32-bit.

So, knowing about the ReadyBoost feature on the PC side, I was just wondering if there was any such thing on the Mac OS side.

By the way, I have posted a number of questions regarding ReadyBoost and Fusion on Vmware's Support site, but nobody ever response to my questions. I know that there is a 30 day trial download of Fusion; I'm just waiting to save a few dollars to purchase Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit edition.

Thanks for everyone's input!
