music will not sync on iphone

When I sync my iphone, it does not sync any of the music that is selected. I have all of the correct settings selected and this just started happening after everything worked fine for months. I know something is wrong, because it is doing the same thing to my wife's iphone as well. It basically one day just wiped out all of the music on the phone and will not re-sync it. Any one have an idea of what is going on?

do you have the "sync music" checkbox checked?

if so, do you have any playlists with your music created?

if so, do you have iTunes setup to sync that music to your iPhone?

I have the same problem. The synch seems to take place and the progress bar shows blue on the computer indicating iTunes being downloaded. The 'phone shows that no tunes are loaded and will not open any other screens in iPod mode. On the next synch the computer showed that the tunes had been loaded into "Other", coloured orange in the progress bar rather than blue. Does anyone know what is going on ?

i would try restoring your phone and see if that helps. if it does not, i would suggest going to talk to an Apple Genius. i'm sorry, but i haven't had these probelms, so i can't really be of much help.

Ok...this is what I did on my PC and it worked. Make sure your source file on your computer is in the itunes directory. If not, make a folder and move it there. Than re-do your play lists and try again. Please post back and let me know if this worked for you.

Tried all that - even exchanged the phone - to no avail. I will try to contact Apple Support on the telephone. Thanks for your encouragement.

I have tried all the options AND had three long calls to Apple support today. They had me try everything they could think of and acknowledged that it might be a fault !
