I'm trying to connect my MacBook to our wireless network, but I'm clueless. I've tried the obvious ways through the Airport Admin Utility and the Network Connect and also using Network Diagnostics, but I'm missing something.
From the Airport symbol on your toolbar at the top of your screen--have you ckicked on it and then clicked "Turn Airport ON" ??? It should show all the available networks there once the Airport is ON. You can do the same thing in "Internet Connect" application by clicking on the Airport symbol and then the dropdown menu will show all the networks. If needed, enter the password and you should be online. What exact version of 10.4 are you using?
Oh, lordy!
Ignore me. Found another piece of paper with more instructions my dad had written down and tried another password... and it worked. Duh!
I'll go hang my head in shame now!
Thank you for your help!
Kate
Glad you found the problem--I try to start with the simple and obvious--and then it's good you found the password because my capabilities were rapidly running out. Sometimes you have to pick some other "bin-hex" type stuff when entering yr password, so I'm glad you got it fixed.
