color-correcting underwater videos

Hi,

I'm just getting started with Final Cut Express 4. I'm trying to correct the colors in some underwater videos. When I work on pictures in iPhoto, I do the majority of the correction work with the temperature (blue vs red) and tint (red vs green) controls. Are there video filters that come with FCE4 that work in a similar way?

When I look at the Image Control->Tint filter, it defaults to black as the tint color. Which color do I have to set it to to get control over the red-green tint? And I didn't find anything like the temperature control so far... Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
-Maik

Try applying the Color Corrector filter and dragging the balance visual control towards the redder area, then adjust the other controls as necessary.

If you want, it may help to watch this tutorial video about color correction (under Chapter 3 of this page):

This video goes over color correcting "cool" color schemes to make them more natural.
