Trackpad Drag Lock will not disable!

Yeah there is a slight delay you have to wait before it releases what you're dragging. There SHOULD be NO delay though >:(
This way, there's basically no difference between having drag lock enabled and having it disabled, if you're a speedy user. VERY ANNOYED.

Hi, has anyone found a way to disable to the 1.5 second delay when dragging with the trackpad (using tapping instead of clicking)? That delay is killing me. I wish Apple included an option to disable it, but sadly there is none.

Arghh! Same. I noticed it right away. The trackpad in general is better than my old lenovo but at least my lenovo didn't have this problem! It's so annoying..
Also.. I feel cold using my macbook 'cus of the cold glass trackpad!! And it's snowing and cooollld..

At least it doesn't seem to have an overheating problem like I've heard about..

Yes, it's VERY annoying! Unfortunately, Apple won't listen despite this issue being all over the Internet for months!

Bump. First day with my new macbook and noticed this immediately. Really annoying when using Google Maps.

Is there a solution yet? I HATE the 1 second delay when dragging something on the touchpad.

I would also appreciate a solution to this. It is a quite annoying problem, and I can't see any reason for the trackpad to behave like this in the first place.

I am having the same issue. It started a week ago intermittently and now is stuck in drag mode all of the time! I am taking to the Apple store tomorrow!

Are you sure you just aren't waiting long enough for the drag to disable? On my MacBook there has to be a short delay between the time I lift my finger from the trackpad until I re-contact the pad to begin cursor control. If there isn't a long enough delay the drag will stay engaged ("locked"). However, when Drag Lock _is_ enabled you need to lift your finger and then re-tap the pad to disengage the lock.

Is anyone still having problems with glass trackpad not responding (or having a loooong delay) responding to tap-to-clicks? This problem has existed ever since I bought my aluminum Macbook back in October of 2008. I am on 10.5.8 right now, but the problem is the same as almost a year ago. I have had the trackpad replaced by Apple, but the problem came back within a few weeks.

The problem is intermittent. Sometimes I can go for 30 minutes or more without it showing up, and sometimes, it shows up right away. It is very annoying because you have to either wait for a few seconds for a tap to register as a click or tap several times. Sometimes, you can wait a few seconds and it never registers a click. Again, sometimes, it works just fine.

I have Dragging and Drag Lock enabled System Preferences --> Trackpad and Tracking Speed and Double-Click Speed are set to Fast (Maximum).

I have not yet installed Snow Leopard mostly due to reported incompatibilities between Snow Leopard and my NAS (ReadyNAS). I wonder if you guys have been having this problem as well (I know it has been reported everywhere), and if Snow Leopard has a fix for it.
