Hi All
I've got a couple of questions hope some one can help. I've produced a 6 page site with iweb using the templates. i have an image that appears on every page (footer) i've placed the image into Media folder and fixed the links to it in the html, iweb move the image back into welcome_files when i publish to folder Why? Why can't i have 1 image instead of 6 copies all in xxxx_files folders? how can i create a library file and call that on each page?

I copied my iweb created site to usb and using pc dreamweaver mx changed and uploaded it on another server and it woked fine. How do i now get iweb to import the new changed verion? it only finds the old version even though i've deleted it and emptied the trash.....

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Why not just add the image directly to the footer of each page in iWeb by dragging it into that location? There's not need for post publication processing to embed the image? If you optimize the image before adding to iWeb you can get it down to a few KB and that won't affect loading much at all.

iWeb cannot read published or html files, only create them. So if you do post publication editing on them with Dreamweaver iWeb will never know it. You'll have to redo the editing with Dreamweaver after every edit and republication with iWeb.

Thanks for the info. It's becoming a little clearer of what i am going to do with the web site, redo it and not fiddle with anything......
If you wanted to change the footer image it mean you have to visit all 6 pages in my case, could be more and make the change, if it was a lib file or just stored in a folder 1 change does all pages. I've discovered that this must be an iweb querk moving files around on publication, dreamweaver leaves them alone and it all work fine with recuring page content placed in the Media folder.
Do you know of or can you recommend any html editors that work with iweb?

But doing it your way means you have to reedit each page if you make a change to the page and publish. Post publishing editing is a real pain and so very inefficient in one's use of their time.
