Sony DCR-HC52 connection problem

Hey guys, I've been having this problem is getting annoying. I have the Sony DCR-HC52 camcorder, Mac os x 10.4.11 and Final cut Studio 2. I used it before (with problems, but it worked) Every time I plug the camera on the Firewire port my final cut doesnt recognize it. It doesn't let me capture the media, it says "no communication".
So, I removed all firewire drives and my tascam and I reboot the computer to start fresh. On the screen it says DVin but on system profiler - firewire doesn't see it. I have try on that port other things and the port is fine. I dont really know what else to do!! is driving my crazy.

do you guys have any ideas? I try the other port and another cable as well

Please let me know

cheers

G5 2.0 dual 3.5 RAM, Mac OS X (10.4.11), tasacam 1884

If this is an HDV camera you must make sure it is outputting HDV over the firewire port. You also must disconnect the firewire cable before any changes will be made to the Sony camera. Open the Menu, open Rec In/Out and set the ilink Conv to OFF for HDV. Reconnect and open Final Cut using an easy HDV 60i setup.

Good Luck
