converting protected AAC to purchased AAC

How can I convert songs purchased thru the itunes store prior to the itunes+ rollout?
I have a bunch that are protected AAC that I'd like to convert to purchased AAC.

You can do this from the iTunes store where you will find a link on the right side of the home screen.

This will download the iTunes Plus version available for you protected purchase. There is a small fee in order to upgrade your songs.
