Where is the Where is fcp plugins directory

Well I can see them so I can't confirm it's a security level thing. To be honest I don't know what mine is set at, but if I remember correctly there was nothing in it when I first began installing plugins. It's just where FCP goes to look for plugins to load. Whatever you put in there it will load.

In the plugins folder? Those folders are for plugins for those specfic programs. Final Cut does not have a specific "Final Cut" folder just the "Plugins" folder itself.

I think you're looking in the wrong place.

Make sure you go to ...

(Hard Drive)/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Pro System Support/

and not...

(User)/Library/Application Support/Final Cut Studio/

I think you misread the post above. It should be Final Cut Pro System Support, not Final Cut Studio.

Also, there are various plugin folders - this is one of many. So if you don't see anything inside it, it means your plugins are in another plugin folder. The default plugins that ship with FCP are stored inside the application bundle.

Wait, what?

You are recommending that the OP delete Final Cut Pro's Preference files or that they reinstall the software because they want to know the location of the Plugins folder!!?

As to your linking to the Compressor Troubleshooting article, you are the only person who has even mentioned that application.

Did you even read the thread?

Ok don't attack me now!!! That's what i was told today by one of Apple's reps by phone and by email... because FCP gave me that message about Lithium plug in and kept quitting over and over... So i removed the receipts and reinstalled FCP. Then restarted the computer...

Happy now!?

Not knowing where the folder is does not mean that there is a problem with Final Cut Pro.
Far from it in fact. So, even suggesting the reinstallation of the FCS suite is way off base.

Lithium is an internal plugin and part of the application frameworks for Final Cut Studio.
Something entirely different.

What exactly are you trying to do? Modify one of the built in plugins? Those are stored within the App itself. If you want to access them, you can right/ctrl-click on one and select Open in Editor...

As well as the location of the FxScript plugins already mentioned, your 3rd Party FxPlug plugins are in /Library/Plug-ins/FxPlug/
