I am trying to find out how to edit the words I added to my English dictionary. Please, help!

I tried th Dectionaty Cleaner 1.5 but it does not work in 10.4 System Prefs pane.

Thanks!

Hi Asen,

Assuming it's English we're speaking about, see if this file exists...

/Users/nnnn/Library/Spelling/en

that can be edited with a proper text editor that can save zeros as a line ending iirc.

Or exactly what do you wish to do to it/them?

You can unlearn a word. Open the Spelling panel: in Textedit, Edit > Spelling > Spelling... (Command-:). Enter the word to forget in the box (the one under the " Guess" area). Click Forget.

You could edit the file with TextWrangler, but be sure you know what you are doing. There are invisible characters in that file, and you must get them right. Be sure you have a backup.
