Cache on my Mac keeps filling up

Ok, On my iMac, I don't really do much in the way of video and graphic editing. I use it for email, word documents, music and video watching, typical stuff.

So I was booting it up the other day and got a message saying that my boot volume (and only partition on the computer) was full. I thought it was odd as I've never taken up more than 60-70 gigs of the 320 gig hard drive. So I started rooting around, and I figured out that my cache folder was over 170 GIGs BIG!! I couldn't believe it, so I went out and found a cache cleaner, and erased it, restored all my permissions, rebooted, and all was good.

All was good until I rebooted it yesterday and it says that my folder was out of disk space again. I cleaned the cache, rebooted, and all was good. So my question is, why is my cache folder getting SOOO rediculously big? I don't even have 170 gigs worth of stuff on my computer. Any suggestions would be helpful!
