I reset my iPod a couple of weeks ago and now whenever I sync music to my iPod from iTunes, any songs won't show up on it. It fills the harddrive on the iPod but says "0 tracks"! And when I try to play the songs from the Ipod on iTunes, they are grey and non-clickable.

On the iPod it looks like this in About:

Tracks 0
Videos 0
Images 0
Disc Space 27,8
Available 26,8

I assume this is a 30GB model? If so, it looks like it is empty to me. I don't see the hard drive being full since it is reporting a capacity of 27.8GB with 26.8 GB being free. Which means only 1GB is being used for whatever.

Yes it's a 30 GB, but no matter how many songs I put into my iPod, the iPod says it's empty, but the songs still take space from the iPod's harddrive. In this case I put songs for 1 GB, nothing else.

My suggestion is to Restore the iPod. After it restores, then be sure and do a reset on it. For some reason, restores can leave odd bit set or cleared on the iPod that shouldn't be and a good reset after the restore can fix up those little niggling left overs.

Then try a fresh sync and see what happens.

    Thanks! That did it.

You know, I already restored the iPod once but nothing changed. This time it actually worked. Thanks again.

I have a similar problem. I have an iPod 80GB classic. I’m not sure what generation it is but the model is MB147LL and version 1.1.2 pc. Recently when I go to upload new songs to my iPod they will not show up after iPod is disconnected from my pc. The songs will show up under music while connected to iTunes. After disconnecting though they are nowhere to be found. I noticed this problem after accidentally uninstalling Apple Mobile Device Support. When I finally realized I needed this I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes. This did not fix the problem so I restored my iPod. After doing this I synch my iPod and all of the songs that were on the iPod before I had this issue are back on device and show up. But all the songs I tried putting on after still do not show up once disconnected from iTunes. I have 42.5 G free. I made sure the songs were the right format as well. The songs I am trying to upload are from Cd’s, downloads from the Internet, and exports, from FL Studios and other music producing programs. Any Suggestions/Ideas?
