Account not verified in iTunes..

I've followed the instructions, created a new account in iTunes, validated it and everything, but when I sign in on iTunes itself and try to get an application, it says that my account is not verified yet..

I had the same problem last night. After receiving the email, clicked on the link and went to the Itunes homepage. Got repeated message:'You have not verified your account yet'. Also trying to create a agreement on Paypal didn't succeed and ended up in a loop. Then downloaded Safari 4 update and pasted the link into the browser. Instant success! Added the Paypal account trough Safari without a problem.

Seems to be an epidemic, problem and solution seem to be simple enough though. It's a compatibility issue between internet browsers and itunes. FireFox and IExplorer don't work. As pointed out already, Safari 4 DOES work. Just copy and paste the verification link from the email sent by itunes/apple into the address bar in Safari while itunes is open. You'll then be prompted for your user ID and account password. Enter the necessary information and your done. Problem solved.
