Adding horizontal rule or border line within Mail

I would like to insert a HTML-type horizontal rule or border line within Mail.app messages to help separate different content sessions or even a signature file. Is there an elegant way to do this?

I've only come up with two kludge options...

1) Type in lots of ----------- characters.
But this looks VERY outdated in today's HTML-based world

2) Cut & paste a horizontal rule from Word/OpenOffice/et. al.
But this messes up the paragraph formatting

TIA --

yeah, just moved from a PC last week, I was just thinking about creating a signiture for my emails but discovered that Mail doesn't have that feature, or unless I can't find it.

Mail/Preferences/Signatures

Chose one of your accounts and then click on the + button located below the middle column. In the right column you put in your text for a signature.

Each account can have it's own or even more than one signature file.

When you create a new message you can choose which signature to use from a drop-down menu on the right side of the message below the Subject line.

thx dechamp. is there a way to type in the "horizontal rule" that can be used as a separator like:

_______________________________________________________
First Last name

that in Mail? without using continuous minus/underscores because with the horizontal rule, it changes it's length to the reader's message window.

this function exists in Entourage when creating signatures but I don't really want to be using that application for my mail.

I guess it's just a nitpicky preference, but if all else fails, the _____'s will suffice =)
