Yamaha KX 25

Hi guys. I recently bought a Yamaha KX 25 midi controller. I am having problems with the usb connection. I have an Mbox with midi connectors so when I use that to connect my yamaha via MIDI cable, then it works(the test setup works in audio midi setup). Now when I want to leave the mbox out of the setup (just go macbook+yamaha via usb) well then it doesn't work (the test in audio midi doesn't work and neither does controlling anything in Logic). I installed the driver that came with it. do you have any tips? thanks

Have you set the KX25 for USB mode? (Utility button -> Select buttons -> Data buttons)

I don't know if there's a way to set them all at once, but what I did was open up the keyboard shortcuts (option-K), and then I chose the functions one by one, pressed "learn new assignment", and then hit the corresponding key on the KX25.

The knobs can be programmed too, but you have to use KXEditor to set them all to different MIDI values first -- they were initially all the same on mine -- and then you can use "command-K, learn" to get Logic to map them to various adjustments. I am not 100% happy with how I have my knobs set up now, but at least they're doing something rather than nothing.

Great. that worked. thanks. now do you know how to get those control buttons like play, record and others to work as they should. I did already set the yamaha to LogicPro in the DAW section but at this point the control buttons only play notes when i hit them.
