Outlook/Entourage/iCal

I have just migrated over to a Mac having used a PC for business for years.
Does anyone know why invites sent from Outlook are not able to be accepted in Entourage? Is there a way around this?
Does anyone know why invites I send to people from Entourage do not leave my mailbox - an error is reported. Is this a common problem? If it did work, would an outlook user be able to accept the invite?
I've had a look on the net but haven't been able to find a specific answer to my problem so any thoughts or leads much appreciated! The problem is that most of my work is with people who use a PC and Outlook so I really need to crack this!
