Assigning Powermate knob to outputs 1&2

I just picked up a Griffin Technology Powermate USB controller and I would like to assign it to the fader on outputs 1&2 within Logic. The way this device seems to work is to represent keystrokes within a program.

Here's the device: http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/powermate#

Is there any way to assign a keystroke to increase and another to decrease the volume on a fader? I looked around in the keyboard shortcuts menu and I was unable to find anything like this.

Thanks!

This device is already set up for GarageBand so it should be simple to use it in Logic. Have a look at the manual to see what it says about using it with GB. Logic should recognise it in the same way.
When you turn the knob, can you see any activity in the Transport window? Any activity will appear in the MIDI section.
If you can see the Powermate, you have the option of using the Learn function to assign it to Output 1-2 (see Manual for full instructions)
Alternatively, you can set it up as a volume controller in the Environment.

Actually following on from my last post, is this possible with my Radium 49 keyboard knobs?

Could I assign this to my Logic overall volume?

I just need this to quieten the room as my active speakers come straight out of my soundcard.

How can I map the (is it Main out or Master 1-2 in Logic?) to a hardware knob so i can control my speakers, which are coming out directly from my soundcard?

I just want this as a volume control for my speakers (active ADAM A7's) for volume in the room - does the MASTER OUT fader in Logic, effect a render at all,

ie: if i wanted to do a mix render quietly in the room? will the volume of my rendered master be quiet too or is that the Main OUT 1-2 that controls the render?

Anyhow, I'm not sure how i do this? I did look at the Enviroment but came over all faint, and had to lie down in a darkened room.

Is there a quick way to do this with hardware via USB thats already connected and showing in logic??

Thanks have tried the learn function in controller assignments and try and map the Master but it doesnt seem to work??

I can seem to map the Main out 1-2 fine, but this as a volume attenuates any ITB mixing so have to be careful to put this back to 0.

I choose the MASTER in the controller assignments and map a knob from my controller which says its learnt..

But nothing??

Is there a simpler way of doing this? as point, wiggle etc??

I think that it is not a good idea... this is not professional gear...
changing Master output can cause issue

read this:

Master must stay at 0dB!!!
If Master is not set at 0db the bouce will be not correct... distorted...
and when you go to iTunes the Volume Level will be not the same

if you don't need professional audio quality you can use it but if you need Pro Knob

check out for this
http://www.mackie.com/products/bigknob/

is very good for Pro/Home Studio recording... and makes you able to stay with Logic Master set at 0 dB... and controll the Level without loosing ddynamics range
