Sorting mailboxes

Is there a way I can sort Mail boxes that I have under the "On My Mac " heading on the left side of the window.
I have tried to drag a mailbox to another place but it always ends up inside another mailbox.
If I try to move an existing box it just goes back to the same spot it had earlier.
They don't even want to arrange themselves in alphabetical order.
