Renewing lease (wifi)

After I recently got the fixed IP, Ruoter, etc for my Church & I tapped on "renew lease" to bring back the IP, etc. it seems like ever since I got my Touch replaced & got the IP, etc again after the vary first time I had it I'm having to hit "renew lease" ALOT more then before. It's stays on for like 1min or 2 but the I have to do it again. Why is that?

Windows XP, 5th Gen (30 GB) & IPOD TOUCH (8 GB, 2nd Gen,

Try reseting network settings.

I did think you were kidding. I know what you mean but will "forgetting the network" mean I have to put in all the info in again & also will it pull up the network on safari, or what?

After you forget the network, you'll have to put in the password again, but only once.

and the IP, etc will be there, right? How does the "forget the network" work different from reset network settings?

Forget network will prevent automatic connection to that specific network.

will the info still be there? If I only have to put the password in once will it still know to conncect everytime or do I have to tell it? I don't know why but forgetting the network makes me nervous then restting network. If you were me would you do forget the network?

Why is harder for me to stay connected now, & not when I had my vary first Touch before?

Just do it and don't be nervous. The info will and should be there, it will connect automatically after you put in the password, and yes at this point I would forget the network and reenter the password.

can you get on any network by going to "other" within settings>wifi if you know the password & not be at that place?

The reason it is slow to renew has much more to do with the network and not your touch. If the router is busy, then it is going to take longer. If you are in an area where the signal is a bit weak, it is going to take longer.

Your iPod is fine, enjoy it.
