Midi issue someone please help...

Recently my midi keyboards (M-audio Oxygen 61) usb out oddly stopped working, I found the "Emagic" driver but not the M-audio usb driver. Any way since I own midi cords I decided to connect the midi out to the midi in of my audio interface. When using logic I can hear the sounds, the sounds are being triggered from the Oxygen 61, Logic is not recording the data on the Arranger screen. I know the track has to be armed in record, that usually happens automatically when choosing a track. Even when the track is armed in record and I press "r" or click record, I hear the click/metronome but when I press the keys nothing shows. I can trigger sound though...

Any help would be much appreciated, I have to use pro tools for now to make tracks and I'm not the same; "My mojo is gone man". Please help...

Thanks

Macbook intel/2.1GHZ/4GB RAM, Mac OS X (10.5.6), I use my mac mostly for recording, there is nothing better!!

Look in the environment window. Select all objects and uncheck 'view as text'

You will see graphic representations of all modules. Make sure there is a 'cable' coming from "physical input". You can wire it up to go to an 'input notes' module. It looks like 1 1/2 octave kbd. That should be patched into an 'input view' module and that should wired to a 'sequencer input' module.

This will allow you to hit "input notes" and see them on the "input view" and if you have an instrument track armed to record, you should hear sound.

I have encounted the same situation you are in, and when I checked in environment, a cable had been disconnected, hence no input to sequencer track.

If your song project has somehow gotten messed up - open a Logic template, and you should see a similar environment as I described. That will show you how to wire it..

Thanks but...
Most M-audio products are "class compliant" with Mac's so there are no drivers to install, just "plug n play". I talked to M-audio and they said my keyboards USB out is malfunctioning and since the keyboard is now more than 5 years old, to buy a new one. I was going to do that anyway it was time to move on....
I did go through my midi connections on the Environment window, I recently had my settings ready for my two samplers (MPC 1000/ Roland MV8800). I also had it working with my Miko as an external instrument, I just had problems with midi keyboards alone. I fixed it and saved it as a template, the odd thing is that I did nothing different connection wise in the Environment. I literally made the same connections as the template that did not work previously, that weird...

Thanks allot for the help
