Can I mount linux partitions, ext3, located on usb drivers on apple?

Thanks for all the replies so far.
I was not expecting such a complicate task.

I feel like it should not be technically so difficult if the apple released their file system specifications to a group of passionate linux users. I guess when there is nothing left to do the strategy is to go in a conservation mode ... and the overarching good does not live there.

However, I have to be honest and say i don't know what the real deal is.

I hope I am wrong.
