Dock will not show up. Need help fast!

I have a G5 I installed leopard in and don't use all that often, but somehow the dock disappeared and I cannot figure out how to bring it back. It's not hidden in the preferences or anything I tried everything I could, but I cannot figure out how to make it reappear.

PLEASE ADVISE

iMac G5, Mac OS X (10.5.1)

Did you try restarting the Mac (or just logging out and logging back in)?

yeah it is usually off, but whenever i turn it on the dock doesnt show up

The Dock's preference file is at

<user home folder>/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist

Try moving that file out to the Desktop so that the system can create a fresh one. Then restart.

I'll try that when I get home. Thank you. If you have any other suggestions incase that doesnt work please post them so I can try everything

One thing you can do as a test is to create a new admin user account in System Preferences Accounts pane

Log out and log in to the new account. Does the Dock appear in the new account? If so, you have narrowed the cause to something in your current user account (probably that preference file). Otherwise, the cause is likely to be in your overall system.
