logic express 8 does not detect my virtual instrument ( on a dongle )

Hi ,

I have a virtual instrument on a dongle ( USB key ) . Logic express doesn' t see , recognize , detect it as a plug-in ( doesn' t detect it at all .) So unfortunately I cannot record my virtual instrument .

any advise would be highly appreciated .

PS : this is a legal dongle that I received for free buying another virtual instrument ( on cd this one )

macbook 2.1, Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Hi,

the virtual instrument must be an audio unit (AU) for Logic to detect it. A standalone Instrument won't work.
Also, Logic doesn't detect AU's that are on a dongle. But if you find a *.component file you can copy the file to: ../Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components That's where Logic looks to find AU Plugins.

I wonder if an alias to the .component file would work?

Also, top edouardvdv, if you have purchased this from a commercial party you should contact them for it's use/installatin, they might well have some aid.

Maybe.

Maybe the .component file then looks for the dongle, and if it's not there, it says "nanaaa". It depends on what type of plugin you have and how the normal installation routine is. Like Gerry said: Ask the guys that sold you this stuff or look on the appropriate websites.
