Jaguar upgrade

Like Jim Makichuk I wish to upgrade but want to install Panther 10.3.9 onto a G3 Imac.
I also have a powerbook with Tiger, was going to try and install that on my Imac but realized that it doesn't have a DVD drive. I can not find a download for a full version of Panther.
Has any one any ideas?

thanks

Stephen

You cannot download Panther. Each major OS X upgrade is not free, only the minor sub-versions are freely downloadable. You will have to purchase whatever OS X version you want to install whether it be Panther or Tiger. You will have to search on eBay for copies to purchase as neither are produced by Apple any longer. You can call AppleCare to see if they have purchasable copies of Tiger (Panther is now obsolete.)

Be sure you only purchase retail copies. Gray OEM labeled copies are generally only usable on the computer model with which they came, and will not work on your computer unless made specifically for you model.

Stephen, welcome to Apple Discussions.

If you do a Google search for M9227LL/A (Panther 10.3 retail install CDs) or M9228LL/A (Family Pack), you may find a set. The CDs should be black with a white X.

After you install the base 10.3.x, update to the final Panther version 10.3.9. See Mac OS X 10.3.9 Update (Combo) http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2464
