Cinemascope in imovie '09?

Hi,

Is it possible to crop the picture so it looks like cinemascope (very widescreen)?

Why don't you crop it in iPhoto?

You mean, I'd have to import the whole edited video into iphoto and then crop it and then export it? I didn't know iphoto handled video... wouldn't it be easier if there was an option in imovie?

You can crop the video right there in iMovie. iPhoto doesn't need to be involved. But you have to do each clip separately and it will probably still only export to one of the designated dimensions. Even then the bigger issue is whether or not you can figure out how to crop in 21:9 (1:2.33) which is about as close to true "scope" (1:2.35) as you're probably going to get. You might just play around with cropping your video with the widest frame possible.

Ok, we're getting somewhere... One issue though, when I select cropping it seems to have constraints. Is there a way to see the exact ratio I'm selecting?
