Do I have bluetooth on my iBook?

I have recently received one of those wireless Apple might mice as a present. I tried to connect it to my laptop but it seems that I don't have a bluetooth installed. How can I know whether I have a bluetooth or not and if not, how can I get one? How much does it cost? I tried to find the item on Apple store but I wasn't able to.

1.33 GHz PowerPC G4 (iBook G4), Mac OS X (10.5.6)

My wife has ibook g4 manufactured 2006 which has blue tooth fitted as standard, suggest you click the apple top l/h corner about this mac then when that lights up click more info, it then lists hardware l/h side, if you have bluetooth fitted it will show approx 3rd one down, if not cannot help on cost or what to do, cheers Robin.

Thanks, it says "No information found." Which means that I don't have a bluetooth, huh? I bought my iBook in the spring of 2005. So where do I buy a bluetooth? Anyone?

The other place to check is in *System Preferences*. If you don't see a Bluetooth pane there, your machine doesn't have it installed.

You'll need something like this:

If I was in your position, I'd search that website, or others, for a USB Bluetooth adapter. Make sure the one you choose is listed as compatible with a Mac, and be sure to read the reviews!

HI Ron,

Open the System Profiler to see all the software/hardware on the iBook. (Applications/Utilities).

If Bluetooth was not pre-installed then you need a Bluetooth adapter. I use a D-Link USB adapter.
This is the exact one I have; http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=34 and it works like a charm. In fact, this one has lasted 5 years without need of replacement. I use pair it with a mouse and external keyboard both.

As Lyssa said, search the internet to see if there another manufacture available to compare the features with and make certain it's Mac compatible.

But... 2 thumbs up here for the D-Link !!
