New computer, iPod won't sync

I have a brand new laptop (64bit) and when I plug my ipod, it won't sync... Why is that?

alex - i am having this issue with my new macbook. i copied over everything to my new laptop, per the instructions when i turned it on. now when i try to go to 'sync' in my mobileme preferences...it won't let me - nothing happens. and when i plug in my iphone, it won't allow me to sync. i get a pop-up that says 'syncing is disabled on this computer, would you like to override?'. but when i click the 'override' button, is says that 'syncing on this computer is not possible'! i've signed out of mobileme on my old computer (now the family computer) and signed in on the new computer - but again, i can not access the 'sync' preferences in mobileme. HELP!

I am also having this problem! I have downloaded new version of itunes on my "new" computer. Everything in itunes worked fine. Purchased a few songs, but they will NOT sync to my ipod. I do not get any type of error message or anything. It's frusrating! I have had this problem previously, but I dont remember what I did to make it work!

Authorized and deauthorized numerous times! THis *****! Everything works perfectly fine! It let me put my purchased songs into itunes, it is recognizing when my ipod is there or not, it just won't put the new songs I bought onto it! I am so sick of apple I could scream! (Sorry I had to vent a little!)

i figured this one out. if you have all your music on your new computer its an easy fix. restoring your ipod to factory settings will delete all your music but then all you need to do is sync it. it will work as it reinstalls all new software to your ipod so it will work with the new computer. ( note: i do not know about mac to pc and vice versa) i changed from windows xp to vista home premium no problem. hope this is a help
