Transit Directions Could Not Be Found

Recently when I try to use Google Maps on my iPhone, no matter where I ask for directions to, I get this response: "Transit directions could not be found between these locations."

It doesn't seem to matter where I want to go from, or to, I get the same error. It will find an address just fine, but will not give me directions to or from it.

This has just begun happening in the last couple of months. Any clues??

Do you have Transit (the Bus icon) selected for all directions?

Once selected, it will remain selected.

If you are driving or you will be driving, select the Auto icon to the left of the Bus or transit icon for your directions.

I just started having this issue on my 3GS. I'm not sure if it coincided with 3.01 or not, since I don't use Google maps for directions that often, but no matter what locations I put in, I now get "directions cannot be found...." I seem to have fixed it by doing a reset on the iPhone, then clearing out the locations I had in google maps and starting over. Now I can get directions again. BTW, when it wasn't working, you couldn't even get as far as the screen where you can choose walking vs. transit vs. driving.
