Missing Avatars and Friend Photos

I'm not sure why but recently i lost the ability to view avatars and pics of friends on various sites. I'm beginning to think the problem is in my setup somewhere, but have no clue where to start, or why this would suddenly happen. Any suggestions? Anyone?

imac 7, Mac OS X (10.5.1)

For starters, update your system to 10.5.6
You also need to be more specific about your computer problem. Is it all graphics or only some that you cannot view? What do you see in their place, etc.?

i'm sorry, it's only the avatar pics and photos of friends on a few websites.

system updated, but still no change. instead of displaying profile pics its as though no pic was uploaded. this would not be odd but for the fact that all my friends profiles and any other profile i try to view is the same. this just happened about a week ago i guess.i thought maybe it was a browser setting but i've checked preferences and nothing indicates that's what it could be.
